Jamie Gordon

Hey, welcome!

I've been coding since high school and professionally since 2013. In my career, I've been focused primarily in Ruby on Rails, with standard HTML/CSS frontends and React frontends.

I also have some professional experience in Elixir, focusing more with parallel processing and data warehousing.

Extensively used 3rd party APIs to connect to external services, as well as developing APIs for other companies to connect to.

Skills

  • Ruby on Rails
  • Elixir
  • React
  • Typescript
  • CSS, SCSS, all that style stuff
  • HTML
  • LaTeX (for Resume)
  • Java (high school/college)
  • External APIs (xml, json, you name it, I've probably dealt with it)
  • Plus a bunch of other stuff

Projects

Tournament Project

https://github.com/gellaho/gellaho_tournament

Ruby on Rails. This project is used to show fans who has won in a fan image contest. Each image faces each other in a tournament, and the website shows the results along with optional commentary. Has an importer that ingests a zip file full of images and a json file telling how the tournament breaks down.

This site

https://github.com/gellaho/jamiesgordon.com

Ruby on Rails. Not a lot to see, mostly just shows off front end skills. Built using Tailwind.css and Alpine.js

Discord Archive Creator (Elixir)

https://github.com/gellaho/book_cage

Elixir. This is built for my other personal website, which archives book readings that I've done on Discord.

One English Word

oneenglishword.com

A silly website that uses an API to show one English word at a time. Comes from an old inside joke.
